At a glance
Sitting amid a small coppice, Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty and the Jurassic Coast World Heritage site, this grand home is perfect for family and friends with a love for getting out and about. With far-reaching views over the majestic Hardy’s monument towards the glittering sea, this home exudes country house-charm and plenty of character. Sleeping eight guests over four bedrooms, challenge each other to tournaments on the ¾ sized snooker table for lively evenings.
The space
After following the private track (level and firm but not tarmacked), step inside and admire the flagstone flooring, exposed stone walls and decorative antlers which adorn this home. Fresh and bright, the spacious kitchen is perfect for large parties and has two fridges to fill with provisions. Pile the long dining table high with serving dishes and plate up a storm inside, or head outside and light the BBQ for an al fresco evening. Continue your night in the snooker room or choose a place to unwind for the night; curl up at the bottom of the tower in the Admiral’s Well or put your feet up on one of the sofas which sit beneath a spectacular chandelier with 42 oil-filled candles and antlers. Turn in and head to one of four stylish bedrooms to rest your head. Two ground-floor bedrooms boast charming style and en-suites, whilst the first-floor, king-size room has a striking internal balcony overlooking the snooker room where little ones will need to take care. The final bedroom is perfect for younger guests, fun-filled sleepovers and story times. Rise and shine and take a morning coffee up the tower’s spiral staircase for gorgeous views. There is ample off-road parking available.
Pack your bags, grab the picnic and travel 11 miles south for a day at Weymouth beach. Backed by gorgeous Georgian architecture, this is a picture-perfect seaside resort with beautiful waters to swim in and plenty of attractions for young guests. Further along the coast (16.5 miles from home), admire the magical arch of Durdle Door. For market days and cinema nights, travel into the heart of Dorchester (3 miles).
