Across the moors high in the distance is an imposing castle - that is your bed for the night! The restoration of the castle is still a work in progress, but the room is clean and comfy. It can be cold up there, but it is a real castle on the moors so that comes with the territory. David is a friendly guy, and you won't find a more interesting place to stay for miles. | |||

During the tour, we discovered a huge and amazing renovation project. A real asset of the Airbnb, it's worth taking 1 or even 2 hours to immerse yourself in the castle's history. We also had a wonderful and nice time with Ryan the evening of our arrival. We highly recommend this Airbnb for a short break. With a little more progress on the renovations, we're sure that longer stays will be fabulous! | |||

We spent a wonderful evening with the Laird himself, the Balintore Boys and 2 equally adventurous guests, a lovely couple from Finland. We kept ourselves warm and entertained with the delightful mixture of fevertrees blood orange soda mixed with Cairngorm gin and tales of our airbnb experiences interspersed with the poetic laments from the upcoming poet Jack. The charm of the castle comes from being able to sit on and be surrounded by antiques. Its like going to a national trust house and being allowed to sit on the sofa behind the barrier. Walking up those stairs is like walking back in time for real, not a structured, pandered to, packaged version. This place is for those who have imagination, creativity and whimsey and enjoy good company and a wee gin. | |||

The tour David gave us was brilliant as we were very interested in the renovation of the property! We look forward to revisiting to see the ongoing progress. Ryan and his cooking was perfect for us! You have to take into account this castle is undergoing renovation so it’s not a 5 star castle stay but this is reflected in the price, we honestly feel so privileged to have stayed here and learnt about the history. A beautiful memory etched in our hearts! already planning our next stay! |
