Buittle Castle, a site of significance in Scotland's history, is now in its 30th generation of family ownership, broken only by a brief 60 year period. The current owners are decedents of the Balliols who once occupied and ruled this Royal burgh. The castle and its grounds are being restored and revitalised with respect to its medieval occupants, and its long history since Roland of Galloway fortified the site in stone 850 years ago.

A great place to stay with a large group of friends. Tobias was really friendly and welcoming. The castle is a really unique and usual setting with great facilities. The great hall is a highlight! Would recommend.
Tobias and James were very kind. We loved their vision for restoring their family castle. It was a great space for our large family, and it was a lovely getaway in the peaceful countryside. Our children enjoyed the freedom to run around outside, and we had such fun being inspired by the history of the castle. Thank you very much! Also, I have to say a huge thank you to James and Tobias for helping me organize a family meal that they cooked for us. It was absolutely delicious, and the food was served in the great hall. They went above and beyond and even helped me print out a document that I needed for a meeting the following day. Thank you!
