Old School 8 has great views of the garden however the property itself lacks any feeling of quality in relation to the decor, fixtures & fittings & so many more key elements. The double bed mattress is extremely poor & unsupportive, the TVs need updating as does the SKY unit- nothing worked apart from SKY news, the carpets are heavily stained & if you want any form of coffee or blended juice in the morning there’s no kit so you’ve got to go out and buy what you want. The apartment was fairly clean, quite quiet & a great base for the area, it just lacks love & some investmentHighland Club ScotlandSeptember 2023Thank you very much for your review, David. We find your constructive feedback very helpful in improving our service. We are glad to hear you enjoyed your stay and are planning to come back to the Highland Club next year. All the very best, Luis G.

We were a family of two adults and two teenagers visiting Scotland. We stayed at the Fort Augustus Abbey for 7 nights to explore the Highland, lakes and islands. The apartment was large and very comfortable, inside an old abbey and its huge park, facing a large green field. The location is truly exceptional, directly on the banks of the Loch Ness, close to all facilities. Most of the apartment looked very recently renovated. The furniture and beds were great. The kitchen table and the living area furniture were clearly used but not at all worn out. There were some stains on the carpet but nothing bothersome. The apartment was very comfortable with a huge dining table, lots of space, two full bathrooms, very comfortable kitchen area, etc. The abbey was great overall, a very nice park for walking or just sitting around, table tennis, open-air chess, swimming pool, etc. By far our best Airbnb experience. A bit pricey but absolutely worth it!Highland Club ScotlandAugust 2023Hello Attila. Thank you very much for such an elaborate and positive review. We are glad to learn everything lived up to your expectations, and that you and your family had a pleasant stay. It was a pleasure having you as our guests - we would love to host you back in the future. All the best, Luis G.
DeeptCarmel, IndianaNone5August 2022Had a very comfortable and pleasant stay at the club. Would highly recommend the property to our friends. Everything was very well maintained and very clean. The apartment is well stocked and has great views.
Nabil12 years on AirbnbNone5January 2022We had a great experience staying at the Highlands Club and would definitely recommend it.
William10 years on AirbnbNone3October 2021Location-wise, the apartment is excellent. It's in a beautiful setting and, as we were using it as a base for the Loch Ness marathon, it was perfect for our needs as we had an early start for the race.
However, as one previous guest mentioned in a review, the apartment feels rather tired inside and certainly isn't the luxurious feel that the high cost of the accommodation suggests it should be. There were a number of stains on the floor when we arrived and a lot of the place felt quite worn and used. Saying that, it did still feel generally clean and they had clearly put effort into preparing it before we arrived.
Additionally, during our stay there was a wedding dance happening immediately outside our apartment, which went on until 11.30pm. Given we were prepping for the marathon the next day, this was far from ideal - the band was VERY loud. The property management company told us they were not informed about this (although the wedding planner said they were) and, therefore, were not able to provide us with a heads up beforehand. Had we known, we would not have booked. I know this is not something that's likely to happen every week, but was a big disappointment for us.
Linda11 years on AirbnbNone5September 2021A wonderful location, steeped in history with a host of amenities and a great base from which to explore.
Scilla8 years on AirbnbNone4August 2021Lovely location and stunning old monetary by Loch Ness. We had beautiful weather that helped enjoy the area in its fullest. Some wonderful walks locally in Fort Augustus as well as The Nevis range near by and if travelling around by car, there were many beautiful sights to see and experience.
The flat was airy and light. It was clean and tidy. Everything was mostly accessible to use even the club facilities (everything COVID friendly)
Ashley9 years on AirbnbNone5August 2021The location of this apartment is absolutely first class. So close to so many incredible walks and drives, and the Abbey has everything your family could want. We used the pool every day (booking necessary but could always find a slot) and so many other activities. The apartment itself is MASSIVE - so much space for our family of 4. And a great welcome from Elena. Thanks so much for a wonderful stay 🙂
Colin11 years on AirbnbNone3July 2021Booked a 5 night stay in room 8 the Caledon. The location, grounds and proximity to the town centre are fabulous. We arrived at the same time as a few other guests and we found the check in process a little slow as due to the pandemic its all carried out in the car park. We called to say we arrived but another family was taken in front of us who arrived 10 minutes after us.
The accommodation was spacious and equipped with everything you will need for a comfortable stay.
What we did find disappointing was the apartment was a little tired if I'm being honest. We paid what we thought was a lot per night and we were expecting a bit of 4-5 star comfort and luxury. The Caledon just didn't have that I'm afraid. The mattresses were of poor quality, the sofa a bit uncomfortable, there was a large stain on the carpet next to the double bed and in general the decor was in need of a refurb. Considering what you are paying, I thought the extra charge to use the pool was very disappointing. Really adds up if you want to swim a few times and you have a family.
Bhasker9 years on AirbnbNone5June 2021A great location beside Loch Ness. Wonderful surroundings and buildings with green spaces.
On arrival proper Covid secure checkin. Welcomed and shown to the flat. The flat was aa described. Well equipped, spacious bright and airy.
If we return to the area will definitely rebook.
