The lounge with its vaulted ceilings and ancient fire place was something so special. You could just imagine what must have happened there over its hundreds of years of history. The kitchen with its views over the beautiful gardens had everything you needed. The uneven wood floors and multiple iron windows with views in all directions only enhanced it’s charm. At the same time the heating kept the place nice and toasty. The attached Somerset museum was also very special with a nice cafe to get our much needed morning coffee’s! Would definitely come again. | |||

We did not get any help from the host and I went back and forth between Sykes and Airbnb but Airbnb didn't have answers and they too were hoping to hear from the owner. It was not clear where to get the keys and how to enter the property. The parking lot was full and when we asked the Castle Hotel for help on all issues they said they had nothing to do with the property even though the instructions said to ask them. We entered the property and the stairs were very crooked and uneven & I fell trying to climb the stairs. The place was awful - smelly, musty, moldy, damp, no instructions how to get around the different rooms or use the wifi or TV. What a absolute disgusting place. It needs renovations & maintenance. We left as we couldn't sleep in such a dirty, smelly and moldy place. Absolutely horrific in all respects. I don't undertand how it can be safe for to stay. All floors were uneven &it was a hazard to walk around the place. Dangerous and dirty. | |||

There are obviously quirks so if you're a light sleeper bring earplugs for creaky floors & eyemasks for the fire alarm lights BUT it is AMAZING and would highly recommend to everyone. Really good value for a group and lovely communal spaces | |||

There were towels, hair driers, tea, coffee, diswasher tablets, washing powder, cleaning and washing up products were available which we didn't expect. We also enjoyed a tour of the whole building. Location is great, shops, many restaurants and pubs few minutes walk. Really appriciated free parking. | |||
