Built in 1888, Cats Castle sits in two acres on the seaward side of the A814, just beyond the western edge of Dumbarton. The property has wonderful views down the Firth of Clyde.
Cats Castle is close to Glasgow, Helensburgh, Loch Lomond and the Trossachs.
The castle comprises three reception rooms, all with working fireplaces, a family kitchen, pantry, and five bedrooms, including the turret bedroom on the top floor.

The castle is spacious, with plenty of gathering spaces for our family. The grounds are lovely for a walk and the views are beautiful! The train station is just over one mile from the house (there are also bus stops even closer), but this made it very simple for a day in Glasgow or our later journey to Edingurgh. The town of Dumbarton with a castle to visit is just a couple miles down the road. Afterwards we enjoyed time in the local pub, everyone was so friendly! A great stay overall in this beautiful and unique place! | |||

One of us even saw a fox stroll through the yard, and there were frequently rabbits out munching on the grass. It was fun to see the estuary at both high and low tide as it varied throughout the day, and to watch occasional boats going past, groups of swans in the water, etc. The house and rooms are very spacious. Hosts were responsive and helpful. |
