For our guests who prefer to stay in a smaller group we are offering the opportunity to stay in the East wing of the castle. This wing can accommodate up to 4 people comfortably with the option of adding 2 more people at no extra cost. There are 2 bathrooms, a kitchen, a dining room, and large panelled drawing room. We offer a barbecue area and 11 acres of grounds. We also host weddings in the East Wing!
The space
The East Wing spans two floors of the castle and has been sealed off from the rest of the property. It has a side entrance which leads into a fully functional and contained living space. On the ground floor is the recently refurbished Edwardian style kitchen. Our medieval styled bedroom is complete with an abundance of candles and furs and an ambience of living in the middle ages. This room also has an ensuite shower room. Upstairs there is a large but comfortable living area, the panelled drawing room, which has an open fire. The first floor landing has a snug in which a small library is ensconced. A large bathroom decorated in an art-deco style leads off from the landing, as does one of the bedrooms. Each spacious bedroom has been finished to a high standard and styled to a particular period in the castle's history. All bedrooms contain a king-sized bed, one of which is a four poster. They all offer excellent views over the gardens.
Guest access
There is ample parking on the very wide driveway. In the unlikely event this is ever filled, cars can be parked in a clearing by the gate or on the grass to the left of the track as you approach the castle. Electric cars can be charged from an outdoor socket located on the castle's exterior. The estate is 11 acres in size and is mostly wooded. The sleepy village of Auchleven is about 5 minutes walk away down the driveway. For shopping, guests will need to travel to Insch(2 miles) or Inverurie(15 miles). To the rear of the estate lies Bennachie, a small mountain ideal for hiking. No roads need be crossed to reach the summit from the castle. Cyclists will find the surrounding countryside to be exemplary for their purposes.

Weddings
We are now hosting weddings at Lickleyhead Castle! Wedding parties of up to 8 people can use the East Wing for a wedding ceremony. For larger parties the whole castle can be used. Please note, prices on Airbnb are for holiday rentals. Contact us for a quote regarding weddings.
Catering
External catering is possible in the east wing. Please note that we as the venue ask for a small fee (£30) if you bring in caterers due to the administrative burden of food safety requirements and to provide facilities for the caterers beyond those necessary for self-catering.
Please note that we may charge extra for events involving outside guests. Please enquire with numbers and intentions and we can quote you for this.
