A lovely view across to the ŕiver. Appreciated the lift and on site dining, but would have preferred to be able to order just a main course. The pricing was for a 2 or 3 course meal. The lounge with huge fireplace was lovely and the snooker table in its own room a nice touch. Enjoyed the stroll to Robbie Burns Hermitage before departure. The surrounding countryside is beautiful. | |||

The beds were very comfortable, it was quiet and peaceful at night, the staff were very friendly and helpful, breakfast was delicious and there were many options, the surroundings are beautiful with several routes along the river and through the forest. The place is actually a hotel with daily room cleaning service, reception, a nice bar with a lovely fireplace to sit at and a dining room (where we also got a full Scottish breakfast ;)). A free breakfast that included our first time to ever eat haggis! A friendly host who told us about a laundrette in town that G didn't even know about. A hilarious waitress. Probably the only time in my life that I'll be able to afford to stay in a Scottish castle. This place is perfect! | |||
