Step back in time in the historic home of a Jacobite rebel, with old world charm and amenities. Now an artist's home with working studio and private gallery. Situated off the A82 but set back in woodland surroundings, we are only a short walk from the village amenities with its restaurants, cafés and pubs, and within easy reach of Loch Ness, and surrounding hills and glens. Second bedroom available to book for group of four.
The space
This distinctive house, dates from the 18th century, built by a rebel who fought at Culloden. The house is extended with 19th century wings and you will find old family portraits contrasting with unique contemporary artworks. The extensive garden and grounds with stream running through allow for exploration and delight on sunny days.
Guest access
Guests have a double bedroom and use of a separate private bathroom (NB a bath with shower tap fitting). Wifi provided. Visit to studio where artist is usually working on request.
Other things to note
One loveable cat presides over the house, reclining on thrones, beds or laps as the mood takes him - sadly minus his brother.

The home and location are so peaceful, calming and beautiful! But what makes this experience one of a kind is the wonderful conversations with Neville and Jane. They are both extremely thoughtful and engaging hosts with the best stories imaginable. We are also very much in love with their sweet kitty ❣️ They are full of great ideas on what to do around the village depending on what activities you like to pursue. They gave us information on the best hike overlooking Loch Ness with a wonderful pottery shop with tea and cocoa at the top. Very memorable and fun! We hope to have a return visit soon and look forward to sitting down for evening tea by the fire with our hosts and a kitty rubbing against our legs! | |||
