Warm and welcoming with a delicious brekkie and cosy rooms. Jane was a consummate hostess and hugely helpful & knowledgeable about the locality as well as her beautiful home. Thankyou from us both. Highly recommend.

She was absolutely lovely and made me feel completely at home. The manor house is full of history and has been lovingly restored by Jane and her late husband. Jane is a font of knowledge on the history of the house of which she is rightly proud. The gardens are beautiful, containing many rare species and in June must be spectacular with the roses in full bloom. I was lucky enough to be able to watch an amazing play about Shakespeare's women in the Manor barn as Jane's guest during my stay. The village itself is also beautiful, with a local pub just a short stroll away and an award winning pub in a neigbouring village 5 mins drive or 40 mins walk.

Matt | 7 years on Airbnb | None | 5 | July 2024 | This was absolutely amazing! I didn’t believe that we’d be able to stay in such an incredible place with as much history as this. An 800 year old house built on the site of an even older hall. But the house was not only so historically significant but absolutely beautiful too. James was away, and we interacted with James’s mother, Jane, who provided us with a lovely breakfast. But the best part was the tour that Jane gave us of the property, explaining the history of the place. My only regret was not staying longer. Absolutely loved it!
Jon | New York, New York | None | 5 | July 2024 | Quintessentially English! I booked here because it was convenient to an event I was attending. I had no idea how interesting the house was, nor how lovely the area is. If Airbnb start a collection of hidden gems then Prebendal might well top the England list. You are staying in one of the oldest houses in the UK, where any beam or wall under 600 year old is a new addition, set in a lovely garden complete with resident Badgers and Red Kites. The village and surrounding area is about as English as England gets (in a good way). It's all country pubs, quiet lanes and thatched cottages. Jane - our host was friendly, interesting and helpful - and breakfast was great. So if you are visiting the UK and want a genuine Downton Abbey 'Isn't England Quaint' experience then for my money you should forget about Stratford, Oxford and Cambridge and spend a weekend here.

Xiushan | 10 years on Airbnb | None | 5 | October 2023 | A historic BNB in the Manor. The host Jane showed us around and introduced the history to us. She also prepared breakfast for us in the next morning. Shared her fresh honey and her story to us. It’s a special experience to live in an old Prebendal Manor. | James | October 2023 | Hi Susan what a long journey. I found a pair of pyjamas when I was clearing up this morning. What do you want me to do with them? Jane |
Marta | 10 years on Airbnb | None | 5 | October 2023 | Prebendal Manor is a unique home and exceptional English landmark. It is not often that one gets to experience 13th century surroundings, while in easy reach of modern comforts. A hot, luxurious bath with a glass of rich, red wine at the end of a long day's walking through the beautiful countryside was a particular highlight. Though, the real star of the stay was its owner, Jane, who has taken care of and developed the estate for decades. Jane's local knowledge and hospitality transformed our stay from a great one - to a brilliant one. We would warmly recommend Prebendal Manor to all seeking a relaxing yet enriching experience in the English countryside. 5/5 stars. Thank you, Jane, and thank you, the Prebendal Manor estate.
