Lady Jane Grey Cottage is a charming and carefully restored, 3-bedroom cottage that sleeps 5 guests in 1 double room, 1 twin room and 1 single room, with 1 family bathroom. The cottage is a semi-detached, two storey property with a fully-equipped modern kitchen and a spacious living and dining area that leads out to a private courtyard with seating. Upstairs are three comfortable and well-appointed bedrooms and a modern bathroom with a fixed shower over a bathtub.
The space
Lady Jane Grey Cottage is one of Sudeley Castle’s largest country cottages, and is named after Lady Jane Grey who lived at Sudeley Castle before her brief nine-day reign as Queen of England. This lovely cottage was originally part of a paper mill, which was restored to make two cottages and two apartments, preserving the original exposed walls and beams throughout.
This two-storey cottage has a large open plan living area on the ground floor which is split across two levels. The well-equipped kitchen is incredibly spacious and there is a desk area to catch up on work or browse your laptop to find where you'd like to spend your next day in the Cotswolds. The slightly separated sitting and dining area have plenty of space to dine together around the table or lounge in front of TV in the evenings. Two doors at the end open out into the gravelled courtyard enlarging your living space to include this handy outdoor area. Each bedroom has been well furnished with comfortable beds and storage space and the open walls throughout remind you of the history of this building. The more modern family bathroom combines these exposed walls with olive panelling and a wood effect floor.
The Sudeley Cottages are set a short walk from both the village of Winchcombe and Sudeley Castle which you must visit during your stay. Further afield Cotswold highlights including Cheltenham, Broadway and Bourton-on-the-Water are a lovely day out.

Despite being cold outside the cottage stayed warm at all times. It's a short walk to the centre of the lovely Cotswold town of Winchcombe which has plenty of good eateries and drinking places.
We had a great weekend and we're glad we chose this cottage to stay in.

Thanks so much and we will definitely be back!

Bethany9 years on AirbnbNone5April 2023Such a great location - peaceful, close to the main high street, near shops, near some excellent walks and close to the castle. Really well equipped kitchen for cooking. Free access to the castle - well worth the visit. A great place to be able to access other parts of the cotswolds with a car.
