The accommodation was extremely spacious, particularly the living room that had delightful views of the grounds and Loch Ness itself. Bedrooms and bathrooms were also very comfortable with plenty of space for storage. Fort Augustus itself is picture postcard lovely. The Bothy Restaurant is well worth a visit and serves good food. Definitely take the boat tour up the Loch for some good photo opps. We used the apartment as a base to get to the Isle of Skye for a two day trip (well worth it - two hours from Fort Augustus). We also had a great morning canoeing (courtesy of The Active Highs Team) and a good day out in Inverness where you can find the closest supermarkets. The walk along the banks of the River Ness is easy but lovely to do. My one suggestion - the television is crying out for an upgrade. Luckily we brought an Amazon stick so were able to watch streaming TV during some of our down time but otherwise we would have been stuck with linear stations.
Shayne | Huntington Beach, California | None | 5 | July 2023 | Cozy and comfortable flat- just perfect for our family! There was nothing we would have changed about our stay. The kitchen and bathrooms were highly functional and felt upgraded throughout. Beds were great and we slept well. The amenities kept the kids busy and the adults relished the views. 5 stars! | Highland Club Scotland | August 2023 | Hello Shayne. Thank you a lot for such a great review. It makes us be proud of our dedicated team and encourages us to keep up the hard work to continue delivering a 5 star service to all our guests. It was a pleasure to host you and your family in the abbey. We would love to see you back soon in The Highland Club. All the best, Luis G. |

Annette | Bremerton, Washington | None | 5 | November 2022 | The Highland Club in Fort Augustus was fantastic. The apartment was perfectly appointed, views of the lake were amazing, and wandering the small local shops as well as other historical sites nearby made our stay perfect. We highly recommended and will be returning again.
Nidia | Miami Beach, Florida | None | 5 | July 2022 | My family of four stayed at the Monastery building in the Abbey for three wonderful days in July. The Abbey grounds are lovely and serene. Our two bedroom flat on the second floor was large, clean and very comfortable. The views of the lake from the living room were beautiful. You can take a boat cruise on Loch Ness steps outside the Abbey grounds. The Abbey is also conveniently located for taking driving trips to Urquhist castle ruins, Eilean Donan castle ruins, Inverness, Fort Williams, the Glencoe valley, and distilleries. We visited Tomatin distillery. If you take the road immediately to the left as you exit the Abbey gates, you will travel through lovely country pastures with loads of sheep in paddocks along the road. We also saw a herd of the hairy highland cows in a paddock right by the side of this country road. This road takes you to Tomatin distillery. In town, we ate at the Chinese restaurant and the cafe across from the Loch Ness boat cruise dock. It served great pizza. I highly recommend staying at the Abbey.

Mairead | 4 years on Airbnb | None | 5 | July 2021 | The apartments and facilities at the abbey are fantastic , really perfect for family/group holidays. As an extra bonus it is very close to the Caledonian canal cycle so you have approx 10 miles of very wide pathways perfect for family cycling . Fort Agustus is a beautiful little town with great gift and ice cream shops. For evening food check out Rokeby manor (approx 7 miles away) the restaurant is excellent with great kids menu.
