The apartment is nestled within Taypark House’s stunning garden ground, on the first floor through a shared entrance with the downstairs Garden Apartment. It features two spacious super-king/twin en-suite bedrooms (please specify bed set up at time of booking), offering flexibility for couples or groups. There is a comfortable open plan living, dining and fully equipped kitchen if you choose to cook during your stay - although we have an abundance of local restaurant recommendations to give you too. Additional amenities include a washing machine for longer stays, triple-glazed windows, and modern gas central heating, ensuring a cosy and inviting atmosphere, even on the chilliest of days. Although the apartment is on the grounds of The Taypark Hotel, this is run separately from the hotel itself. Whilst we always encourage guests to visit their sumptuous bar area, book a table at their stylish restaurant, or for a memorable experience, reserve one of their three cosy outdoor domes, each comfortably seating up to eight guests on their website, if you require any assistance during your stay please contact your hosts directly through your booking platform.

Great value for 2 bedroom units and 2 bathrooms plus one extra toilet at the front door. Only some issues about the closet light and bedroom lamp that didn’t work. Very easy to fix if the owner would have responded to our notice. Would recommend this place if you don’t need anything from the owner during your stay. It was hard to make contact with anyone to figure out what we were supposed to do, but once we got Richie on the phone he was apologetic about the cleaners not showing up. It being Friday evening, a quick recovery was out of the question and we booked elsewhere at significantly extra cost. The refund process was started up promptly, but for some reason it didn’t seem to cover the full amount that had been paid. Although pointed out immediately, no response had been received a week later on the (non-trivial) shortfall.
Meanwhile, a seemingly different group of people reached out to us to understand the problem with the property (seriously??) and asking for pictures of the unmade property, and someone else came along and countermanded those instructions - it was rather a mess trying to figure out who we had been dealing with at different points.

There isn’t really a functional set of kitchen equipment- minimal pots/pans. The owner doesn’t communicate that well once you get there. One of the cupboards was filled with dirty towels and sheets that were stained with what looked like blood. I’m sure the issue is probably driven by a bad cleaner - but the owner needs to be on top of this.

There were some workmen upgrading the boiler of the apartment (they were told it would be empty all weekend) and they kindly offered to phone the owner. Eventually the accommodation was ready at 4pm. Would have been nice to have an explanation or even an apology!
Positives. Fairly modern inside with décor and furniture in good condition, comfortable beds, excellent linen and good showers. Wi-Fi is average as it is the hotel Wi-Fi from next door. 40 minute walk to the centre of town or a fairly frequent bus service. Parking is ample. In a quiet location with a lovely view.
Negatives. Silly things like only 2 dining chairs for 4 people, 3 TVs but no working remotes, broken bathroom extractor fan, towel rail missing, no instructions for anything, dirty wine glasses in the cupboard.
Finally, although there is no official link with the hotel the staff were very helpful

The beds were very spacious and comfortable with fab en-suite bathrooms. The living area was also great for relaxing in the evenings. We ate at the restaurant next door a couple of times. It is right next to a bus stop which takes you into town. Would definitely return next time we are in Dundee. Thank you for a great stay.

RobertTempe, ArizonaNone4July 2023We enjoyed our stay at the Taypark House. We didn’t realize it was part of a boutique hotel until we checked in. On the upside it was clean, comfortable and very peaceful. It was also a plus to have a restaurant and bar right on the premises. The main detractor was the lack of amenities in the room. Our kitchen was not initially supplied with bowls, spoons and dish towels. There were no tissues in the restrooms, and the hair dryer was also missing. All were eventually provided upon request.
In general, we would recommend this space to any family of four looking for a quiet retreat or base of operations for touring Central and Southern Scotland.
