I can’t quite find the words to describe this experience - it was just magical! So comfortable, cosy, it has been renovated to perfection. We have made some wonderful memories over the last few days and I am certain we will be back. Thank you so much!

Just like before, it was immaculately clean with stunning features throughout. An absolute joy to stay in. Value for money 100%. Can’t fault a single thing. Do not hesitate to book this place if you get the chance.

The tower is charming and beautifully decorated and the river walk was very peaceful and relaxing. Overall it's a one of a kind stay that we'd certainly recommend (and hope to come back to for a full break!)

Jack9 years on AirbnbNone5December 2024Hard to summarise what it’s like to stay in this place in words but it truly was special, especially to spend Christmas here. The medieval building has been so beautifully restored that it feels supremely cosy but with all the original features to e you know you are in something historic.
Kitchen has everything you need to make a Christmas dinner which just about covers any other meal you might want to make. The bed is super comfy, the free standing bath is a treat and the living room is really cosy. The location is very peaceful as well, with the tweed walk and river tweed on your doorstep.
We highly recommend staying here and will definitely be back!
Steven4 years on AirbnbNone4December 2024We absolutely loved the scenic area and the Castles character . It’s a very old building and the renovations have made it fantastic . Loved the two big Fireplaces to keep warm at night snug with a movie after a good day out . The bath in the bedroom is a unique touch . The shower downstairs was only warmish and lasted 5 minutes unfortunately ( maybe being an old property did this ) could be doing with an electric perhaps ? Overall we loved the castle and it’s uniqueness . It’s maybe a bit pricey for a night but it’s a cool property .

Sarah10 years on AirbnbNone5October 2024We absolutely loved Barns Tower, it’s fascinating history and beautiful renovation. It was also cosy when cold outside, well equipped and generously provisioned. From opening the ‘yett’ iron grille at the front door to discovering the secret staircase between the top two floors, we were impressed by its quirky features. We very much hope to return soon.
AveryWashington, North CarolinaNone5October 2024We LOVED staying at Barns Tower for our honeymoon! This was our first time in Scotland and we wanted to completely immerse ourselves in the history and the beautiful landscape; Barns Tower was the most magical place to experience all of it! Everything was so clean, and we loved reading about the history of the tower and surrounding area. We can’t possibly recommend this place enough; we will certainly be staying again the next time we are in Scotland!
