Welcome to Stonelea. You have the exclusive use of the third storey apartment with a private entrance via the side garden. It is a real " home from home". There is a luxurious 6 seater Hot Tub which can be booked for a modest additional cost, either as hot tub only or we highly recommend the spa option that includes white robes, sparkling wine and home-made truffles.
The space
Stonelea was built in 1870 and it is a substantial family home set in beautiful grounds, retaining much of the original character, in contrast to the modern apartment.
It has 1/5-acre landscaped gardens with the huge green canopy of trees which are conserved as part of the original Victoria gardens area of the old town of Blyth.
There are two leather sofas , a leather comfort chair and foot stool, a modern oak desk and skandi style chair ( useful as a work station ), compact fold away dining table for six persons, media unit which houses a 60inch smart TV , C.D and video player with a collection of literally hundreds of DVDs to keep you occupied if a rainy day stops play or a duvet day is called for.
The very large family bedroom has a double bed, two full size single beds, a dressing table , wardrobe and extras include a multi-point extension cable and hair dryer.
The second bedroom is a spacious twin bedroom with dressing table and drawers.
There is a family bathroom with bath, sink and shower facilities.
The Kitchen is fully fitted with all of the appliances that you might expect for everyday living, including a washing machine and tumble dryer.
We can provide additional equipment for babies , on pre-booking request, including baby bath and towel, changing mat, travel cot, highchair, baby monitor, child-friendly tableware/cutlery, and cups.
Should you require it, an additional Z-bed and bedding can be available if you need to accommodate particular sleeping arrangements.
For larger groups, we may also be able to offer additional double rooms with en-suite in the main house, depending upon availability.
Stonelea Energy Healing :
New from 2023: We operate our own Energy Healing business from home, in a beautiful healing room with a Spa ambience which is housed in a completely private Zen garden with water feature & sound healing.
Gill is a business consultant but she is also has 10 years of experience in these healing modalities and is a qualified and accredited Master Practitioner and Teacher of Seichem ( which includes Reiki healing and incorporates some other amazing energies that can deeply relax and heal your body , mind and spirit. ) You can also experience a traditional Indian Head Massage ( neck, shoulders, arms, head and face) which is completely blissful. We will be adding to this list very soon. Guests of Stonelea automatically receive a discount from the usual treatment price
The gardens:
The door to the apartment leads directly down the stairs to the rear private garden which houses the Hot Tub, in its own gazebo ( with cosy seating , ambience lighting and drapes for extra privacy).
There is also a buddha garden to the side with tropical planting , temple bells and wind chimes and patio furniture including a hanging egg chair and a half moon pond which is stocked with fish and a working , garden fountain .
This is a very relaxing area , especially at night, when it is lit with hanging bulbs. Throws are provided, so there is no need to go to bed early. Watch the stars and unwind.
BBQ facilities are also provided, which can be used wherever you choose.
At the front of the property there is a huge play area with a tree house with toys inside and at the base is a smaller play house for very young children with a mini kitchen and , garden toys, including a sit in, pull along cars and a tractor and a climbing wall..
There are three-station play frames, with a combination of swings, slides, climbing frame and large trampoline, there is fun to be had for all ages!
Adjacent to this is a seating area with patio furniture where adults can relax whilst supervising their children.
Guest can book the 6 seater hot tub for the duration of their stay which is in wooden cover and seating area. This is additional cost, if you require the hot tub please contact us to ensure that this is ready for your stay.
Leading from this decking area you can follow a pathway through our beautiful English rose garden which is stocked with a huge variety of Austin scented old roses. Its is a gorgeous spot to sit in with the scents and colours of summer . The roses’ scent is especially lovely first thing in the morning or early evening.
On the opposite of the garden is another decking with furniture and water feature.
The garden is lit at night for your safety and convenience.
Your stay also automatically includes access to our games room with a large pool table and darts board which is usually available between the hours of 9am to 10pm. We can be flexible around these hours, by arrangement. The patio doors from the games room lead directly to the buddha garden , creating an enjoyable social space.
Guest access
Accessibility - There is a flat pathway and small step ups from the lawn or pathways to some of the decked areas in the garden. All rooms in the flat are on the same level but as there are stairs to the third floor to access the apartment and so the property would be unsuitable for anyone with mobility issues as we do not have a passenger lift in situ.
We have a large drive, which can take 5+ cars, with secure parking for all guests.
.We also have lockable buildings for cycles. Guests have separate access to apartment via guest garden. You will usually be met personally on arrival but in case that is not possible we will arrange key collection via the safe box near the entrance to the apartment. key code will be advised on booking.

Once you've parked your car, you'll be delighted to find that we are located directly behind a quiet part of the high street. This means that restaurants and pubs are just a short stroll away, adding to your comfort and convenience.
Our location is designed for your convenience. We are strategically close to the A19 and A1, the main local gateways to all major travel routes, ensuring easy access to your desired destinations.
From the front of the house, you can walk to the beautiful beach, with its award-winning fish and chips and ice cream parlour and WW11 Battery and museum, in 15 minutes. A similar-length drive will take you to the gorgeous neighbouring coastal towns of Cullercoats, Whitley Bay, North Shields, and Tynemouth.
The Quayside and the fantastic Ridley Park, with its Cafe, Lawn Bowls, Tennis Courts, Children's Play Areas, Splash/Water Park, and Cycle paths, are a 10-minute stroll away from the house.
There are festivals and events held throughout the year in and around Blyth. It is a great central location to explore Northumberland and the Coast.
