Situated perfectly on the edge of Grange Over Sands and a few mins walk from the train station to explore the rest of the Lakes. Access to hotel amenities (gym, bars, spa) is a nice bonus if that appeals. However, cleanliness was a major letdown. The main bedroom duvet was covered in dog hairs, unsettling as we had a newborn with us. Housekeeping replaced it the next day, but we had to sleep in it the first night. The furnishings feel cheap and worn, falling short of the premium experience this space could offer. Staff at the hotel seemed disinterested, sticking rigidly to their roles, which made the overall experience feel transactional. While the Turret is a beautiful location, it’s worth managing expectations—it’s exactly what it feels like: an Airbnb run by the Netherwood Hotel, focused on efficiency and cost over guest experience. I’d still recommend it, but at this price, know you’re trading facilities, location, and uniqueness for the points above. | |||

It was also ideal being on site of the hotel - despite cooking our own meals we could also enjoy the hotel bar and lounge areas which are so pretty and cosy. | |||
