At a glance

We are set in a beautiful rural setting with views as far as the Lake District on one side and the Criffle on the other. We are offering B&B in the West wing of the house with up to four refurbished bedrooms sleeping 6 guests, all with their own bathrooms. Breakfast is taken in the original 'Servant's Hall'. An Edwardian drying room is also available for walkers and cyclists clothing on those wet days!
The space
You will be staying in the west wing of a private house. The main house was built in 1780 and purchased by our family in 1880 when it was significantly modernised (bathrooms for example!) and extended to the impressive looking 'Castle' it is today. There is lots of parking, wonderful walking and biking and a kennel available for anyone wishing to bring their dogs. Lots of books for those who would rather curl up in comfortable beds.
We are 2 miles from Dalswinton Church and wedding venue.
Guest access
The four rooms have their own entrance with a spiral staircase to the bedrooms on the first floor. On the ground floor is the original drying room and breakfast room where guests will be given a buffet breakfast of cereal, fresh fruits, bread/toast, yoghurt and have access to their own fridge, kettle, coffee machine (nespresso coffee and tea provided), dishwasher, microwave and toaster.
Quality bed linen and towels are provided.
Other things to note
It is sadly not suitable for wheelchairs.
It maybe possible to bring horses and go trout fishing by separate negotiation. We also have a tennis court available to book.

Ingrid10 years on AirbnbNone4July 2019A very spacious room in the West wing of a real Scottish Castle! We stayed in the library with books of more than 400 hundred years old.
Breakfast with fresh fruit and Greek yoghurt and bread and jam. Fruit juice, milk, coffee and tea. We can certainly recommend.
